DEPARTURE
Old Meets New is the theme of this month’s DEPARTURE, the Art Gallery of South Australia’s after-dark cultural events program.
Presented by BankSA, DEPARTURE is aimed at culture lovers aged in their 20s and 30s. The popular Friday night events are held four times a year and offer a unique experience where guests can gain exclusive after-hours access to outstanding art, hear from curators and artists, and enjoy live music, performances and great food and drinks.
Join us between 6pm and 10pm on August 30, as we explore more than 2,000 years of art making at DEPARTURE: Old Meets New.

Choose your own adventure in the Art Gallery’s Melrose Wing of European Art, where modern meets the classical, cutting edge meets traditional, and where the hot topics of today are reflected in the art of the past.
Old will also meet new on the dance floor with DJ Track Team’s music mash ups and you’ll have a chance to hear how beauty, opulence and mortality have stood the test in time in art making from one of the Art Gallery’s curators.
