Over the last three years, the Targa Adelaide Rally has been a huge tourist attraction for South Australia with many interstate visitors coming to participate in or spectate the action in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. For Norton Summit Hotel owner Jane Horsnell, this is her biggest day of the year – with hundreds of spectators flocking to the area to watch the rally and see the cars.
Mrs Horsnell is an enthusiastic advocate for the event. She states Targa as the biggest event for the area in terms of influx from other regions (with hotel bookings for the event commencing months in advance!). Mrs Horsnell also states that the positive impact of social media has allowed flow on benefits for months post-Targa, with spectators posting pictures of the hotel and the region on facebook.
Norton Summit is a prime location to spectate the event, with a CFS sausage sizzle, drinks and meals available at the Hotel and the stunning Adelaide Hills surrounds. For more information on the Norton Summit Targa Route or any other Targa routes over the four-days, visit www.targa.com.au
