This Sunday SA Life features the beautiful Barossa!
Join SA Life as they discover an authentic touch of Italy, visit an incredible garden, find a surprising cellar door and brew up a batch of beer!
It’s no secret that the Barossa produces some amazing wines – but did you know that the region can also boast award-winning beers? Callum Hann visits Seppeltsfield Winery and Barossa Brewing to try their brews. Callum also puts The Barossa Brewing Company’s Pizza Oven to good use when he incorporates their very popular Bee Sting Beer into a quick and easy focaccia.
Michael Keelan visits the iconic Jacobs Creek Visitor Centre and discovers a few surprises.
Fresh produce for the centre’s restaurant is sourced from an impressive and very inspiring garden just across the creek. The quality of the fruit, vegetables and herbs grown here is directly attributable to the rich Barossa soil. Michael also delves into the history of the Avenue of Cork Trees and finds that a wander along the walking trails reveals many fascinating sights and stories.
Briony Hume takes a lesson in pasta making at Casa Carboni, a new enoteca and cooking school in Angaston, where Italian dishes are lovingly created with exceptional Barossa produce.
Pete Michell visits Tscharke’s Place in Marananga a European-style cellar door which evokes the German Heritage of the Barossa Valley. You’ll find some true Barossa Classic wines here but winemaker Damien Tscharke also likes to introduce people to his unusual varietals from Portugal, Spain and Italy.
Watch this Sunday 5.30pm on Channel 7.
