The Hawke Centre, together with the International Centre for Muslim and non-Muslim Understanding and the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival welcome you to OzAsia on Page – an opportunity to listen to significant and contemporary Asian and Australian voices.

The Hawke Centre’s Director and also Deputy Chair of the Migrant Resource Centre of SA, Elizabeth Ho OAM, will speak with Robin de Crespigny, author of The People Smuggler – an account of one man’s epic search for a safe place in the world – with audience questions to follow.

Elizabeth Ho OAM, also a food writer with a focus on Asian-Australian genres, will chair a great session on Asian food with fellow food writers and connoisseurs, including celebrated father of fusion cuisine in Australia, Cheong Liew OAM, Janet DeNeefe (Indonesia) and Annette Shun Wah (Australia).
Dialogue between Indonesian writers and members of the International Centre for Muslim and Non-Muslim Understanding
This will be a fascinating dialogue between Indonesian Writers and members of the International Centre for Muslim and non-Muslim understanding. This session will be chaired by Professor Pal Ahluwalia – Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of South Australia, UNESCO Chair in Transnational Diasporas and Reconciliation Studies and author of numerous books and articles on post-colonial identity.
