Casacarboni Italian Cooking School

Aug 01, 2013, updated May 09, 2025

Matteo and Fiona Carboni’s love of authentic Italian food led them to establish Casacarboni Italian Cooking School and Enoteca in Angaston.

Focusing on the preparation of Italy’s traditional food, Matteo uses the Barossa’s wonderful produce fresh from the farmgate for small, hands-on cooking classes, demo classes with tastings and even ‘kids in the kitchen’ (bambini nella cucina).

Matteo has worked in restaurants throughout Italy, Europe and Australia and has been an instructor at the Academia Barilla in Parma, a culinary institution dedicated to Italian gastronomy.

The cooking school uses recipes inspired by Matteo’s homeland and his dear Nonna Pia, and brings them to life using extraordinary farm gate produce available in the Barossa.

The cooking school is designed for intimate groups of up to six people for completely hands on cooking classes, which teaches you from antipasto right through to dessert.
