A Brush with Art

Jul 31, 2013, updated May 09, 2025

With their geological significance, timeless and stunning rugged beauty, the Flinders Ranges have long been a favourite destination. The ninth ‘Flinders Ranges… a Brush with Art’ event combines stunning scenery and artistic talent and goes from October 7 to September 7 2013.

Artists have travelled to the area from other parts of Australia and overseas to draw inspiration for their work, many choosing to stay. Flinders Ranges communities have recognised the contribution of art to their local economies and have increasingly supported artists with exhibition opportunities.

In 2004, a number of exhibition organisers came together with a view to establishing an “Art Trail” in the region and in 2005 the trail grew in to a Spring Arts Festival called “Flinders Ranges… A Brush with Art”. Now in its ninth year, the Festival has grown enormously, attracted new venues and has become established as an exciting event eagerly anticipated by contributing arts practitioners as well as enthusiasts and collectors.

In 2013 there are 13 Exhibitions happening across the Flinders Ranges. To see more about the individual exhibitions check out the program at www.abrushwithart.com.au
