Justin Hamilton hosts the Triple M weekend breakfast show and he’s also a feature in The Melbourne International Festival’s Comedy Gala. However, 13-years-ago Hamilton started Adelaide Comedy and this weekend he’s back where it all began.

Far from the Madding Crowd
Thomas Hardy’s much loved classic Far from the Madding Crowd will be brought to life by the Independent Theatre. The story follows a spirited and feisty young woman, Bathsheba Everdene, who inherits her father’s farm and finds herself playing mistress in a man’s world. The play, which is by arrangement with the English Touring Company, opens tonight.

Nikolai Demidenko
Following sold-out performances with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in 2011, Russian pianist Nikolai Demidenko will join forces with Costa Rican conductor Giancarlo Guerrero to play at the Adelaide Town Hall this weekend. Demidenko will perform Scriabin’s Piano Concerto, which he has recorded with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Alexander Lazarev’s direction. In the second half of the program Guerrero conducts Tchaikovsky’s powerful and fate inspired Fourth Symphony.
Katie Noonan
Katie Noonan and classical guitarist Karin Schaupp will bring music close to home and close to their hearts to the Dunstan Playhouse this weekend.The performance will feature music from their album Songs of the Southern Skies, including Finn Brothers, Cold Chisel, Nick Cave, Gotye and Gurrumul with the Young Adelaide Voices youth choir making a special appearance.
Ballet Revolución
The raw energy of the Cuban sensation Ballet Revolución has our reviewer wanting to jump the next plane to Cuba. The talented classical and contemporary dancers mix it up on stage to infectious live Latin American music. So if an international flight is out the question for you, check out the Revolución at Her Majesty’s this weekend.
