The story follows a spirited and feisty young woman, Bathsheba Everdene, who inherits her father’s farm and finds herself playing mistress in a man’s world. The play, which is by arrangement with the English Touring Company, opens tonight.
Following sold-out performances with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in 2011, Russian pianist Nikolai Demidenko will join forces with Costa Rican conductor Giancarlo Guerrero to play at the Adelaide Town Hall this weekend. Demidenko will perform Scriabin’s Piano Concerto, which he has recorded with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Alexander Lazarev’s direction. In the second half of the program Guerrero conducts Tchaikovsky’s powerful and fate inspired Fourth Symphony.
