Discover the age-old beauty of the Flinders Ranges from a new luxury base camp soon to open at Wilpena Pound Resort. The African savannah-style experience will feature 15 safari tents with en-suites and king-size beds, a dining area, bar and fire pit on an isolated and tranquil section of the Wilpena Campground. Set to open in September this year, this will be a new style of accommodation for the Flinders Ranges and provide visitors a new reason to visit. The ‘glamping’ style of accommodation will particularly appeal to holidaymakers seeking active, nature-based getaways with a few of life’s luxuries included. Wilpena Pound Resort is a joint venture between Indigenous Business Australia and the Adnyamathanha Traditional Lands Association which represents the traditional custodians of the area. The South Australian Government has contributed $200,000 to the project along with the Federal Government’s commitment of $250,000.
