There’s movement at the station – DMG Radio’s general manager Sean O’Brien has resigned to take on the role as Managing Director of Channel Nine’s Adelaide operations.

It’s a return to home base for 0’Brien who spent 10 years at Nine as its Sales Director.

The move follows Nine Entertainment’s purchase of the Adelaide TV station from WIN, bringing Adelaide into the national Nine network.

The loss of ‘Brien leaves DMG Radio’s Adelaide stations FIVEaa and Nova in the hands of an interstate-based manager.

“Our current Perth GM, Gary Roberts, will be taking on the additional responsibility as interim GM of Adelaide whilst continuing to successfully lead our Perth business,” staff were told in an email.

“Gary’s long experience in radio will ensure our Adelaide team has the support and leadership it needs over the coming months as we look to appoint a replacement for Sean.

“For those who are not familiar with Gary, his experience precedes him having been in radio for over 40 years in a variety of roles in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, with the last 28 years as a General Manager at 96fm, 92.9 & 94.5 and Nova 93.7.

“He even had a short on air stint at 5AD in Adelaide.”

Sean’s last day at DMG and first day at Nine is yet to be set, but its expected the change will be swift.
