BRONWYN CULLEN: I am a voter waiting to evaluate policies to determine my vote on 14 September. This is quite easy with the ALP as their policies are in the public domain. There is absolutely nothing from the Coalition apart from “stop the boats” and “this is a bad Government”. Effective in opposition but useless as a prospective government.
Mr Abbot clutches his little blue book -what is in it? The little I know has been soundly refuted – Indonesia will not accept boats returned to Indonesia; this is public knowledge. A cheap second-rate NBN for the next century – that will not help business. Non action on climate change when the rest of the world is making radical changes including a “carbon tax” of some sort or other.
This is not the time to turn back to a complacent Howard Government approach. Things are not good world wide, I expect some action from a prospective government, not little blue books to match their little blue ties. Journalists should be pushing the Coalition for their policies not endlessly reporting polls. Potential voters need some help.
