Read the energy bills explained brochure from the Australian Energy Regulator, and you will see in the document that “green energy” cost is actually the smallest fraction of the costs that make up an electricity bill.

If you check other documents from the Energy Regulator you will find that people with PV systems in SA have actually been responsible for a reduction of 1.8% in the wholesale price of electricity here – and wholesale prices are the second greatest fraction of electricity prices.
