LEIGH MILNE: I’m not sure if Mr Naughton is a long time member of the – since we are all equal so there should be no special treatment for anyone – club (Eddie relives Alan’s anguish, InDaily, May 30, 2013).
But I am bemused by his assertion that “the skills displayed by indigenous players are no different to those of goal sneaks Peter Daicos, Alex Jesaulenko or the high flying Trevor Barker.”
I enjoy watching the World Cup soccer competition mainly because I enjoy seeing how the different “personality” of each Country is on display when the teams play. Isn’t it obvious that teams play in the style of their country? And isn’t it obvious that the same thing happens with Indigenous players? I love it.
Of course, the Universe is very grainy, and there are few absolutes.. so I might be wrong. Naaa.
