It’s the first time ever the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships are coming to Asia or Oceania – and Adelaide is hosting the history-making action. Across five courts and 10 days, the world’s best athletes will battle for glory right on the banks of the River Torrens.

It’s more than sport – it’s a celebration of summer, culture and community in the heart of the city.

The competition

More than 192 elite athletes from more than 50 nations will go head-to-head, with 48 men’s teams and 48 women’s teams chasing gold. Expect soaring spikes, impossible saves and nail-biting rallies as the world’s finest take to the sand.

The energy hits fever pitch on Friday, November 14, when Australia’s men’s and women’s teams face off against top international contenders under the lights.
