Adelaide’s newest East End shop wants to make your Tuesday a little more fabulous
The newest addition to Rundle Street East is less about shopping lists and more about stumbling across beautiful things you never knew you needed.
You know the kind of shop where you pop in “just for a look” and somehow leave carrying a bunch of flowers, a hand-thrown mug, a birthday present for your sister and a notebook you absolutely didn’t need?
That’s Geranium.
The colourful new pop-up has landed on Rundle Street East, bringing together contemporary homewares, fresh florals, artisan gifts, jewellery, stationery and beautifully designed bits and pieces from Australia and beyond. It’s the sort of place that rewards a slow wander – and almost guarantees you’ll spot something you didn’t know you wanted until it was sitting in your hands.
Behind it all is South Australian founder Kimberlee Brown, who traded almost 30 years in accounting for a dream she’d been quietly nurturing for years.
It’s a career pivot that feels worlds away from spreadsheets and tax returns, but Brown says the idea has always been simple: surround people with beautiful things that make everyday life feel a little brighter.
“I’ve always believed the things we buy for our homes should have personality,” she says. “They should make you smile, spark a conversation or simply make an ordinary Tuesday feel a bit more fabulous.”
Mission accomplished.
Rather than stocking shelves with whatever’s trending, Brown has curated Geranium with the eye of someone who genuinely loves collecting beautiful objects. Think statement ceramics, thoughtful gifts, colourful homewares, jewellery you’ll wear every day and cards you’ll be almost reluctant to give away.

It’s shopping with a bit more heart.
“After nearly 30 years in accounting, I wanted to build something entirely different, a place filled with beautiful, joyful things from brands and makers I genuinely love,” Brown says.
“Geranium isn’t about selling stuff. It’s about helping people find pieces they’ll treasure, gifts they’ll be ridiculously excited to give and creating a shopping experience that’s actually fun.”
The latest addition to the mix is a dedicated floristry offering because – as it turns out – flowers belong right alongside great design.
“Flowers, thoughtful gifts and beautiful objects all have the same job – they make people feel good,” Brown says. “I wanted Geranium to feel less like a shop and more like wandering through the home of that friend with fabulous taste who always knows where she found that vase.”
That description is surprisingly accurate.
The space feels layered rather than staged, colourful without tipping into chaos and full of the kind of little discoveries that reward taking the long way around. It’s less “grab what you came for” and more “pick this up, have a closer look, then discover something even better on the next shelf”.
The pop-up has also found itself in pretty good company.
Rundle Street East has quietly become one of Adelaide’s best destinations for an afternoon spent wandering between independent retailers, fashion stores, wine bars and restaurants. Whether you’re stopping in before lunch, after work or while making a full day of East End browsing, Geranium fits neatly into the neighbourhood’s creative energy.
Brown certainly thinks so.
“Who doesn’t love Rundle Street East? It has a wonderful energy – a mix of independent retail, great restaurants and bars that makes people want to linger rather than simply shop,” she says.
For Brown, opening on the iconic strip carries a little nostalgia, too.
“I still remember spending weekends shopping at iconic stores like Bauhaus and Bimbo with friends, so it feels a little surreal to now have Geranium on the same street alongside brands like Gorman, Hommey, Assembly Label and Victoria & Woods.”
The East End location is temporary while Geranium works towards a permanent move to Adelaide Central Market, but Brown says the community has already embraced the newcomer.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome from neighbouring retailers, locals and the wider community. It already feels like home.”
Ultimately, Brown hopes visitors leave with more than a shopping bag.
She wants them to slow down. Browse without rushing. Have fun. Find something unexpected. Maybe buy flowers for absolutely no reason.
“I want people to exhale, have a laugh and leave feeling happier than when they walked in,” she says.
“One of the best parts of Geranium has been watching complete strangers become regulars and regulars become friends. Mostly though, I’m excited to keep building a store people recommend with ridiculous enthusiasm.
“That’s the dream.”
And, judging by the number of East End locals already wandering through its colourful front door, that dream looks set to continue.
