Gang Gang Eden Hills is finally here and patrons can expect all the burger favourites plus bagels and salads at the takeaway venue.
Walking up to Gang Gang Eden Hills days ahead of their opening, we are surprised to see a dark grey door instead of the expected and iconic yellow which is synonymous with the Gang Gang name.
“I have paint, and we’re actually painting it today,” co-owner Morgen Wynn-Hadinata says.
“It’s not yellow, though we’re doing orange.
“We decided, we actually had a moment and went yellow is Parkside, and that chapter’s closed. Now we’re orange. We’re going to a different area, so we’re doing orange for our front door.”

This is a new era of Gang Gang – orange door included – after the closure of their first brick-and-mortar in Parkside. Gang Gang Eden Hills is now going back to the owners’ takeaway roots, as the pair also co-own 99 Gang Social and Thirsty Tiger on Hindley Street.
“With the closure of Parkside, there’s enough time in between for us to really hone into the next chapter,” co-owner Nina Wynn-Hadinata says.
“This is more of an extension of our food truck going forward. It’s not really a restaurant, it’s not really a Parkside. It’s in a league of its own,” Morgen says.
The Gang Gang team is honing in on the takeaway side through minimal indoor seating and being available to order online through the website and Uber Eats (like they did during Covid).
As they told us earlier this year, they plan to open the outdoor front space up for dine in patrons.
“Can you imagine? With some umbrellas, bring your dogs. So we’re super excited,” Nina says.
A Gang Gang spread
The menu will feature “what [they’re] really good at” and all the iconic burgers that people loved at Parkside.
“I’ve kind of handpicked all the favourites,” Nina says.
“I didn’t want to take away from what everyone has been asking for, which is the classic [burgers], like Cardi B, the Gods Plan, Spice Girl.
“I’ve added a few – even from 99 Gang – like the best of what we’ve done so far, and so that will be our main core menu.”
Given the larger kitchen, Nina will have an opportunity to be creative with the menu options – which includes the Kardashian shaking salads and bagels – and, as Morgen says, “have time to play around”.
“We’ll have rotating burger specials, sandwiches might rotate – I actually think I might do different sandwiches every day – weekend specials, salads,” Nina says.
“I’m finally back into a kitchen where I can actually develop things a little bit more. So it’s not so go, go, go, because the city is go, go go and it tends to be a different domain.”

Barista, Vinnie Clancy, says coffee will also be an important part of the offering and has plans to use two separate grinders to cater to everyone’s coffee needs.
“We’ve got one that’s going to be doing our in-house blend that we’ve got designed from our Parkside days, alongside our roaster with Two Fish,” Vinnie says.
“Alongside that, we’re going to have our cold brew, and then we’re bringing in filtered coffee as well as you can do ice-filtered and [other options].”
“So to all those caffeine heads out there, we have you covered,” Morgen laughs.
They also plan to introduce a guest roaster, which means they’ll always have their original blends but can have “something else in from roasters that [they] don’t use”.
“So we can support other roasters in the Adelaide area. Just bring back that sense of community with coffee…while keeping the core base of what our coffee is here,” Vinnie says.
What Morgen and Nina are most excited about with the Eden Hills venture is the connections they’re able to make with the local community.
Being locals in the area for years but working in the city, they’re excited to “for the first time…meet [their] neighbours”.
“I guess having here solidifies for us that this feels like home because of the communities,” Morgen says.
“It really does make you feel a different way about somewhere where you know that you’re going to have your regulars, you get to have those conversations.
“It’s a different ball game in the city, especially on Hindley Street, and especially around alcohol.
“We’ll have our run clubs, we’ll have our families, we’ll know the kids from school, we’ll probably be at pickup zone for God’s sake. You know what I mean?”
But the place isn’t finished yet, the couple say they’re calling in Gang Gang favourite Alex Bellas to come in and make magic on the walls.
