The South Australian Museum is hosting Wine, Weaving and Leatherworking, the second of its late-night events, on Friday, June 13, as part of its month-long Viking Festival. This evening in the Museum’s foyer celebrates the successful Treasures of the Viking Age: The Galloway Hoard exhibition.
From 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, you can visit the museum after hours, enjoy a South Australian wine, and see local artisans at work. Victoria Benndorf from Stahlfäden will demonstrate the historical art of tablet weaving, used to create detailed belts and bands. She’ll be joined by Doug Hazel from LHOH Leather Craft, who will showcase the tradition of leatherworking, with a selection of items for sale.
The museum’s cafe, gift shop, and World Mammals Gallery on the ground floor will also be open.
