Celebrity chefs Mandy Hall and Jessie Spiby are set to go head-to-head in The Big Brunch Battle, a cooking contest to support a new fundraising campaign by Meals on Wheels SA. The free event will be held at Plant 4, Bowden on Sunday, June 1, 2025, starting at 11:00 am.

The former MasterChef contestants will tackle a ‘mystery box’ of surprise ingredients and will be challenged to create a delicious brunch dish in just 30 minutes to impress the judges. This battle kicks off The Big Brunch Drive, a weeklong campaign from June 2 to June 8, inviting South Australians to host fundraiser brunches.

Meals on Wheels SA CEO Sharyn Broer says supporting The Big Brunch Drive helps the organisation continue providing care, connection, and community. “While delivering nutritious meals with a personal touch is at our core, our work goes far beyond that – developing community activities and initiatives to offer meaningful social interaction opportunities,” Ms Broer says. Meals on Wheels SA encourages individuals and groups to get involved by attending the battle or hosting their own brunch.
