Zaachariaha Fielding, best known as one-half of the acclaimed music duo Electric Fields, is also an emerging figure in the visual arts. His new exhibition, Purkarari: Slow Down, is showing at the Adelaide Town Hall’s First Floor Gallery.
The exhibition features collaborative works created with artists from the APY Art Centre Collective. This includes pieces made with Sandra Pumani of the Yankunytjatjara people, as well as Pitjantjatjara artists Yaritji Young, Nyunmiti Burton, Jennifer Ingkatji, Yaritji Heffernan, Margaret Richards, and Megan Lyons.
Fielding’s visual art has already received national recognition, with his work previously shown in the Ramsay Art Prize at the Art Gallery of South Australia and the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards.
This exhibition will also be featured as part of the SALA Festival in August 2025 and will be included in Tarnanthi: Festival of Contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art.
Purkarari: Slow Down runs from July 1, 2025, until February 2, 2026.
