KickStart for Kids has teamed up with SkyCity Adelaide to host their annual Period Poverty Fundraiser.

The fundraiser supports KickStart’s Against Period Poverty program, which provides free menstrual hygiene products to over 200 schools across SA.

One in four girls missed attending school due to not having feminine hygiene products, according to data from the Commissioner for Children & Young People’s 2019 report ‘Leave No One Behind’.

Media personality and KickStart ambassador Rebecca Morse will return as emcee for the fundraiser, which KickStart for Kids Against Period Poverty has been coordinating since 2021.

“The reality is that many girls in South Australia miss school simply because they can’t afford basic products such as pads and tampons,” Rebecca says. 

“The work KickStart for Kids is doing is vital but we need continued support to reach more schools.”

The afternoon will include a fashion parade by Melanie Flintoft’s Couture Love Madness and Crestwell Brands, live music, a silent auction, and guest speakers.

The event will be held at SkyCity’s Sol Rooftop venue on Friday, May 30, from 1:00 pm ‘til 4:00 pm.

Tickets include a three-hour drinks package and canapés, with one hundred per cent of profits going directly to the cause.
