ILA Playground is the current exhibition at Light Square’s Centre for Immersive Light and Art featuring two interactive light installations, Sea of Light by Patch Theatre, and Neon Canvas, a collaboration between ILA and the University of Adelaide’s Realities Extended team.
Sea of Light is an interactive installation for families and invites visitors to “embark on a journey of light and imagination”. Using a UV torch, you can become a light painter and watch your “ship” create a voyage through glowing paths of light.
Neon Canvas features a 150-square-metre LED screen in the Light Room Studio that transforms artwork that you create with digital spray paint into vibrant visuals filling the room.
Presented as part of the ILA Playground, both Sea of Light and Neon Canvas are self-guided experiences and session times are ticketed.
Relaxed sessions are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays from two pm, and include reduced capacity, a quiet breakout space and lowered volume.
ILA Playground runs from Wednesday to Saturday with session times every 30 minutes between 9am ’til 2pm or 4pm ’til 6pm. On Sunday, there are sessions every 30 minutes from 9am ’til 2:30pm. Tickets can be purchased via Universe. For more information, please visit the ILA website.
