Heaps Good Cinema teams up with the Adelaide Independent Film Festival (AIFF) for a special takeover screening at the Mercury Cinema on April 17. The event showcases five short films from entirely South Australian filmmakers, offering a look into local emerging talent.
Each film screening will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A session with the respective filmmaker, providing insight into their work. The program includes AIFF award winners like Does It Come With a Warranty?, about an ailing farmer and his android assistant, and Evacuation Afghanistan: The Story of Erfan, a documentary following an interpreter’s journey to Australia. Also featured are Djaambi, Mary in the Mirror, and A Million Lives.
Between the screenings and Q&As, there will be an interval, and the evening offers a chance to network after the films conclude.
For filmmakers looking ahead, AIFF’s final deadline for short film submissions for their main October event is June 13. Find out more via their website.
