Gather Round Sprint

AFL Gather Round in the Barossa will offer more than just footy festivities and world-class wineries. Community footy players from across the country are invited to compete in the first Gather Round Sprint.

Hosted at the newly redeveloped Barossa Park Live Site at Lyndoch, adjacent to the main oval, the Gather Round Sprint will see registered footballers sprint in a 70-metre dash for prize money and glory. A total prize pool of over $30,000 will be shared by both players and footy clubs. The fastest male and female open winners will receive $5000 each and an additional $5000 for their registered footy club. Underage categories will take home $1,000 each and an additional $1000 for their club.

Featuring live commentary by Stawell Gift commentator Ollie Wurm and facilitated by the South Australian Athletic League (SAAL), who run South Australiam race The Bay Sheffield, the official Gather Round Sprint is an exciting addition to the 2025 AFL Gather Round calendar. The live site will be open from 10:00am until 4:00pm on April 12 and 13.
