Electric Fields are headlining a First Nations live music celebration at Northern Sound System (NSS) on Saturday, May 24.

The all-ages, licensed event will see NSS – a youth creative hub that has helped launch the careers of artists such as Tkay Maidza, Teenage Joans, Elsy Wameyo and TOWNS – transformed into a high-energy, multi-stage indoor and outdoor music experience.

Joining Electric Fields are dynamic hip-hop artist J-Milla, emerging R&B artist RIAH and Riverland singer-songwriter Katie Aspel. The event is presented in the lead-up to National Reconciliation Week, with food trucks and a licensed bar also available.

City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty says “Northern Sound System has built a strong reputation as a cultural and creative hub in Playford and beyond”.

“Its world-class status ensures our community can enjoy high-calibre acts,” Glenn says, “including Electric Fields, best known for representing Australia at Eurovision 2024.”

In the lead-up to the event, NSS will also hold two creative workshops for First Nations students. One will be a songwriting and music development workshop with J-Milla, and the other will be a game development workshop.

Electric Fields will be fresh off their Eurovision 2024 appearance and recent Keys to the City of Adelaide award. The duo, Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross, blend electronic soul with Fielding’s native languages Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara. Their awards include ARIAs, NIMAs, and SA Music Awards, and they have performed across the globe from New York to Budapest.
