Artist Bill Botten took up painting as a hobby at the age of 40 while working as a lawyer.
Coming late to the party – intimidated by the fact that both his parents and two siblings painted, but as he says, he “couldn’t do bugger all” – Botten has developed his arresting style over the past two decades.
His abstract and figurative works are splashed across large canvases heavy with colour and bold brushstrokes.
His latest exhibition Stories to Tell launches with an opening night on Friday, 30 May.
