Animation in Transformation: a moviejuice screening series

Moviejuice presents Animation in Transformation, a four-week screening series showcasing animated films that push the boundaries of the art form. The series will focus on international folklore films, including Marcell Jankovics’ psychedelic Hungarian folk tale Son of the White Mare, and Studio Ghibli’s environmental allegory Pom Poko.

The series will also feature Sébastien Laudenbach’s minimalist fairytale The Girl Without Hands, which was animated entirely by the director. It also features unsettling Chilean stop-motion horror The Wolf House, made by Cristóbal León and Joaquín Cociña.

The film screenings are as follows:

• 9 April 2025 – Son of the White Mare

• 16 April 2025 – Pom Poko

• 23 April 2025 – The Girl Without Hands

• 30 April 2025 – The Wolf House

The season runs throughout April at Mercury Cinema. Individual tickets and season passes are available now via Humanitix.
