The Adelaide Italian Festival is back this November, with a 10-day celebration of Italian culture across South Australia. The program features more than 60 events, from long lunches and cooking classes to film screenings and fashion.

The festival kicked off with an immersive two-day opening event, ‘Festa in the Plaza’, at Festival Plaza featuring Italian food and drink vendors.

Just outside of the CBD, San Leucio Designs will put on a fashion show on November 16, showcasing Italian silhouettes and vintage European tailoring.

To close the festival, a long lunch called Pranzo in the Piazza will be held at Waymouth Street’s Roma restaurant on Sunday, November 16.

Adelaide Italian Festival Chair Gina Marchetti says the festival has continued to grow since it first began in 1976.

“Throughout the years, this Festival has grown and with it we have been fortunate enough to welcome a much broader audience who have wanted to celebrate this wonderful way of life,” Gina says.

“It’s time to get out and explore South Australia and discover what makes the Italian culture so great. This is much more than just an event for Italians – the Adelaide Italian Festival is for everyone.”
