Adelaide-based avant-art-pop trio The Only Objects are celebrating the launch of their latest single “Access Will Be Retained” in a show at Lowlife Basement Bar on November 29.
“Access Will Be Retained” is the first release from The Only Objects upcoming sophomore album An Excess of Hauntings. The track is described as marrying the “unapologetic, anthemic energy of art rock with frenzied, wild free jazz saxophone”. The sax is courtesy of Jack Degenhart who guests on the track, joining bandleader Patrick Lang on vocals, guitar and synths, bassist Zacc Breheny and Drummer Sam Menzel.
The track was produced by Tim Whitt, who will join them at the Lowlife Basement gig with his project Everything’s a Banger, where all songs are transformed into bangers from heavy metal to radio jingles.
Special guest Neenaw, an amalgam of alternative folk, pop and contemporary jazz by award-winning vocalist and instrumentalist Courteney Hooper will join them.
Accessibility note: Entry to the Lowlife Basement is by Staircase only. Enter from Hyde Street under the vines.
