The 2025 Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge is coming to Adelaide this May, with tickets now on sale. This new international tournament will see the Australian Steelers compete on home soil for the first time since 2018. The event runs from May 29 to June 1, 2025, at Netball SA Stadium.

The World Challenge joins the existing Wheelchair Rugby National Championship and a newly introduced junior’s division, creating the largest wheelchair rugby event in the world for 2025. The Steelers, who claimed a bronze medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games, will face international teams including Canada, Brazil, Germany, New Zealand, and the Netherlands. Chungnam Province of Korea will also compete in the National Championship.

Wheelchair Rugby Australia CEO Chris Nay says “the World Challenge will be an historic moment for the sport. This landmark event will see seven countries compete in Australia, bringing international teams to Adelaide to go head-to-head against the might of the Australian Steelers in front of a roaring home crowd”. Full event, day, and session passes are available.
