Who said Sundays are for sleeping? There’s a Fresh new take on weekends with a banging Sunday music radio show that’s sure to get you moving.
Sunday Showcase from Fresh 92.7 is supercharging Adelaide’s local dance music scene with a programming line-up that showcases Australia’s next generation of music creators – think exciting DJs, emerging pop artists and electronic producers.
Curated by local artist and radio mainstay MATIAH, the show drops every Sunday from 4pm to 11pm. And, given Fresh 92.7 has been Adelaide’s go-to dance station for almost 30 years, it’s the perfect platform to bring new, local music to the ears of South Aussie music fans.
“The new Sunday line-up puts Adelaide and Australian music front and centre, which is a huge part of what Fresh stands for,” MATIAH says. “I’m especially excited that we’re introducing our first electronic pop show, MORE THAN MUTUALS, hopefully welcoming a brand-new audience to our airwaves.”
Sunday Showcase isn’t just about house and techno heads (though they’re well catered for). It’s about expanding what “dance” sounds like in Adelaide right now.
Across the night, the line-up moves from fresh finds to club-ready energy. Owen De Boer kicks things off with Fresh Produce, a two-hour opener primed for new music lovers, before MATIAH steps in for Fresh Off the Block, spotlighting emerging artists worth knowing now. From there, More Than Mutuals leans into electronic pop, before DJ HAZ takes things deeper with The Garage. Closing duties fall to Gone Magic with Fresh Off the Decks – a late-night set built for those not quite ready to call it.

More than just good programming, the initiative taps into something bigger: the long-standing gap between making music in Adelaide and being heard beyond it. It’s about nurturing Adelaide’s creative ecosystem, giving emerging artists real-time exposure, meaningful airplay and a strong platform to build their careers.
“Creating new opportunities for emerging artists is the reason I do what I do,” MATIAH says. “Supporting Adelaide’s music scene is at the heart of our station but taking it a step further by developing new on-air talent is a real passion of mine. Fresh is all about showcasing Adelaide talent, and this new line-up is the perfect opportunity to do just that.”
In other words, Sunday Showcase isn’t just for listeners – it’s a pipeline for the artists, too. A place where bedroom producers become names, where local acts build momentum, and where the next wave of Adelaide sound starts to take shape in real time.
It’s the perfect – and exciting way – for music lovers to get ahead of the game, feel the vibe and get down with the next generation of South Australian dance artists before they move to the big stage. A chance to have that “I was there when they first started” moment.
So if your Sundays have been feeling a little … flat, consider this your reset button.
