Adelaide will see one of the world’s biggest music stars headline its 2026 festival as it moves to a new home. See who else is on the lineup.
“Your favourite artist’s favourite artist” Chappell Roan – who was shot into superstardom after her breakout hit ‘Good Luck Babe!’ – will headline the indie-music festival in February.
Chappell spurred a ‘Femininomenon’ with her drag-inspired artistry and bold hooks, taking home the 2025 Grammy for Best New Artist and going viral with her performance of ‘Pink Pony Club’ from her 2023 debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.
The Missouri-raised star – who calls herself your favourite artist’s favourite artist – will play a 90-minute set at Laneway, which will this year hold its Adelaide leg at the Showgrounds, moving from Bonython Park, where it’s been for the past two years.
Aussie fans are keen to see the Midwest Princess as the headliner, given her last stint in Australia was in November 2023, pre-‘Good Luck Babe’.
She will be joined on the lineup by UK producer and genre-blender PinkPantheress, and English Rock outfits Wolf Alice and the tongue-in-cheek Wet Leg.
A third of the artists on the lineup are making their Australian debut, and Laneway will have a new stage at its February festival.
American singer-songwriter Role Model will play Laneway, known for the hit ‘Sally, When The Wine Runs Out’ and viral performances in which he brings out a different guest to dance as ‘Sally’, including Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson and Troye Sivan.
Swedish rap collaborators Yung Lean & Bladee will team up for an exclusive set, and Philadelphia-based indie-rock god Alex G will also take the stage.
English singer-songwriter Cavetown and American singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus will also perform, as will LA folk-psych five-piece Mt. Joy and New York musician The Dare.
Up-and-comers Malcolm Todd, Jensen McRae, Gigi Perez Wisp and Oklou will also perform.
Laneway is showing local artists some love too, with Adelaide’s Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers joining the lineup.
